Happy Easter!

Standard

Did you know that the Easter egg is hollow to symbolise Jesus’s tomb that was found to be empty after his crucifixion? I found that out today as I was munching my first ever chocolate egg while trying to educate myself about Easter through Wikipedia. Not so sure I wanted to know that but I know it now therefore everyone else must know!

Other things I learned today include:

  • The Easter bunny is this holiday’s equivalent of Father Christmas, bringing decorated eggs to homes.
  • Chicks and eggs are symbolisms of new life.
  • The lamb is a depiction of Jesus Christ, the lamb of God.

Some of these may be obvious to those familiar to Christianity, but I’m not so they’re all news to me!

Have a happy happy Easter and enjoy all the candies and sweets! 🙂

My first, second and third Easter eggs!
